One of the most frequently applied frameworks in analysis of these historical factors is the Neo-Marxist and dependency approach. This paper attempts to evaluate the functionality of these approaches with regard to Iranian development. Neo-Marxist approach to development is in fact an attempt to rely on the classic Marxism in order to analyze the development process of Capitalism and its after effects to the developing or under-developed economies. The advantage of the dependency theory over other Neo-Marxist theories is the fact that it does not relate all factors to the world economy or countries’ position in the Capitalist system. Instead, it tries to take into account social, political and ideological constructs of each country in its analysis. In the evaluation of the dependency-approach oriented researches in Iran, the fatalistic and deterministic aspects of these analyses was criticized as they fail to fully draw the relationship between Iran and the world. Consequently, they have not been able to present a truthful picture of the social and political forces at work in Iran. عوامل تاریخی مؤثر بر توسعه‌نیافتگی ایران از دغدغه‌های همیشگی محققان ایرانی بوده است. رویکرد نئومارکسیستی و نظریه وابستگی یکی از رویکردهای رایج در بررسی موانع تاریخی توسعه در ایران است. هدف این مقاله بررسی و ارزیابی این رویکرد به‌ویژه قرائت جان فوران از آن در تحلیل توسعه‌نیافتگی تاریخی ایران است. رویکرد نئومارکسیستی به توسعه در واقع تلاشی برای بسط مارکسیسم کلاسیک برای تحلیل روند توسعه سرمایه‌داری و پیامدهای آن برای اقتصادهای توسعه‌نیافته است. نظریه وابستگی با وجود شباهت‌های اصلی در قیاس با رویکردهای نئومارکسیستی، این مزیت را دارد که همه چیز را به اقتصاد جهانی و جایگاه کشورها در نظام جهانی سرمایه‌داری فرو نمی‌کاهد و می‌کوشد شرایط و ساخت اجتماعی، فرهنگی و ایدئولوژیک کشورهای مورد بررسی را نیز در تحلیل خود برجسته کند. در تحلیل پژوهش‌های انجام‌شده براساس نظریه وابستگی در ایران وجوه غایت‌انگارانه و دترمینیستی این تحلیل‌ها مورد نقد قرار گرفت. آن‌ها در تحلیل رابطه میان کشورهایی مانند ایران با نظام جهانی دچار تناقض هستند و نیز تحلیل دقیقی از نیروهای اجتماعی و سیاسی در ایران ترسیم نمی‌کنند. فقدان طرحی بدیل برای توسعه از مهم‌ترین مشکلات این رویکرد است. در تحلیل پژوهش فوران نکته مهم ناکامی او در تلاش برای پل‌زدن میان تحلیل مبتنی بر جزئیات از ساخت اجتماعی- اقتصادی ایران با مفاهیم کلان نظریه وابستگی است. <strong> </strong> https://jhs.modares.ac.ir/article_22899_c3d69d6cb156570e7116785863dcdddd.pdf
